A rebranding 10 years in the making


Having created the logo for the original NUS Institute of Real Estate Studies (IRES) 10 years ago, the client approached us again when they needed to revamp the design, remembering the good work we did for them a decade ago. With a new focus on urban living, it was decided that the institute be renamed to NUS Institute of Real Estate & Urban Studies (IREUS). Hence, a new logo identity was needed.


The new IREUS logo takes a modern and futuristic approach, featuring angular buildings that are clean and striking, implying cutting-edge precision and professionalism. Constructed using pixel-like digital blocks to signify research excellence, 4 urban structures overlap to reveal a 3-D perspective created through the clever use of negative space. The design communicates IREUS’s openness to different points of view, and how creative and interdisciplinary perspectives are increasingly needed for society to be future-ready.


To accompany the new logo, a new tagline “Global Thought Leadership in Real Estate and Urban Studies” was proposed by the agency and adopted by the client.


The new logo was unveiled at the inaugural Real Estate and Urban Studies conference held on 24 May 2019, which brought together experts from academia, government and industry worldwide in a concerted effort to find innovative solutions and forge collaborations for the advancement of the field. To support the event, we also created a series of collaterals and event assets for the conference, which was attended by Minister for National Development Mr Lawrence Wong.
